Privacy policy

This privacy policy explains what data is processed when you visit hantavirus.cc. The short version: as little as technically possible.

Responsible party

The person responsible for data processing on this website is the operator named in the imprint. For privacy-related enquiries, use the contact details listed there.

Hosting and server logs

This website is hosted on a virtual private server at Contabo GmbH (Munich, Germany). When you access the site, your browser automatically transmits certain technical data, including your IP address, the requested URL, the referring URL, your browser type, and the date and time of the request. These are standard server log entries.

The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in ensuring secure and stable operation of the website). Server logs are retained for a maximum of 14 days and then deleted automatically.

Map tiles — OpenFreeMap

The interactive map loads vector tiles from OpenFreeMap, a free, open-source tile service. When the map is displayed, your browser sends requests to OpenFreeMap's servers, which may receive your IP address. OpenFreeMap does not use cookies and does not require an API key. For details, see openfreemap.org.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in displaying geographic data). A future migration to fully self-hosted map tiles is under consideration.

Fonts

All fonts used on this website (Inter, Inter Tight, JetBrains Mono) are self-hosted. No requests are sent to Google Fonts or any other external font provider.

Cookies

This website does not set any cookies — no analytics cookies, no tracking cookies, no session cookies.

Analytics and tracking

This website does not use any analytics or tracking tools. No data is sent to Google Analytics, Facebook, or any similar service. There are no social media buttons, pixels, or embedded third-party content beyond the map tiles described above.

User accounts and data collection

This website does not offer user accounts, comment sections, newsletters, contact forms, or payment processing. No personal data is collected beyond what is described in the server logs section above.

External links

This website links to external websites (official health authorities, Telegram). When you follow an external link, the destination site's privacy policy applies. The operator of this website has no influence over their data processing practices.

Your rights under GDPR

You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data stored about you. You also have the right to restrict or object to processing and the right to data portability. To exercise these rights, contact the operator using the details in the imprint.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. A list of data protection authorities in Germany is available at bfdi.bund.de.

Changes to this policy

This privacy policy may be updated to reflect changes in the website's technical setup. The current version is always available at this URL.
